Custom Deck Design
We start at your home. We measure the space and look at the doors, afternoon sun and slope of the yard.
Trees, slopes and access affect the design and cost. We'll look at those during the visit.
You'll review a layout showing the deck's size and any stairs, seating or lighting you choose before materials are ordered.
These drawings show the layout. They aren't stamped engineering plans. If engineering is needed, your proposal will say who arranges it.

Professional Deck Installation
We use Premium PVC, including TimberTech Advanced PVC decking, for its lower upkeep in wet weather. It doesn't absorb water like wood, and the boards need cleaning instead of regular sanding and staining.
Boards are only part of the job. Framing, fasteners and water management matter too. Your estimate will list any railing or drainage options you choose.
A sound frame matters ten years in, too. We plan footings for the site, joist spacing for the boards and flashing where the deck meets the house.
We'll plan the board layout before cutting. Hidden fasteners go in the main deck surface; borders and stair treads use face fasteners where the system calls for them. Cut ends follow the board maker's instructions.
We'll clear our work area when the contracted work is done. If approval is needed before use, your proposal will say who handles it.

Under-deck drainage
An optional system that collects water beneath the boards and drains it away. It can help you use the space below, though wind-blown rain and other moisture can still get in.
Finished edges
Covers the exposed framing around the outside so the deck looks finished from the yard.
Skirting
Covers the gap beneath the deck, with ventilation and access panels. It doesn't seal the space or keep all animals out.
Gutters
Carries rain off the cover and away from the deck.
Built-in seating
Built-in benches give you extra seating without adding more chairs.
Deck stairs
Steps set to an even rise, with a landing at the bottom.

How long does a typical deck build take?
Most deck builds take weeks on site, but the frame and footings affect the schedule. Concrete needs time to cure. After the visit, we'll give you an estimated schedule and keep you posted if weather, material delays or hidden damage change it.
How high can a deck be before it needs a railing?
Thirty inches is the general rule. Oregon's residential code calls for a guard when the deck is more than 30 inches above the ground. The measurement and local requirements matter, so we'll check what applies to your deck.
Can you build on a slope?
Yes. A slope can mean taller posts, different footings and more framing. We'll check the ground and access before pricing your deck.
Does the deck attach to the house or stand on its own?
Either can work. An attached deck uses a ledger board fixed to the house. A freestanding deck uses its own supports. We'll look at the house wall and site before recommending one.
What time of year can you build?
We build throughout the year, but weather can slow the work. Winter is often quieter, and spring and summer tend to book further ahead. Talk to us early if you have a season in mind.
What materials hold up best to Oregon rain and weather?
PVC is worth considering in our wet climate. Wood absorbs moisture and needs regular care. PVC boards need cleaning without the same refinishing routine. Flashing and water management still matter underneath.
