How long does a deck take to build?
Most decks take one to three weeks to build once we start, and getting the permit usually adds a few weeks before that. You get firm dates in your estimate, so there are no surprises on timing.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We are licensed, bonded and insured to work in Oregon, and our registration number is in the footer of every page. It is worth asking any contractor for theirs and checking it against the state registry before work starts.
Do I need a permit?
Usually. In Oregon a deck normally needs one once it sits more than about 30 inches off the ground, and each city sets its own rules on top of that. We prepare the drawings and file them.
Do you subcontract the work?
No. The same crew handles your job from start to finish. We do bring in a licensed electrician when a deck needs wiring, and that cost is in your estimate up front rather than turning up later.
What does a deck cost?
It depends on size, height off the ground, and what the frame underneath is like. We come out, look at what you have, and give you an honest, clear estimate with no surprises.
What happens if you find rot?
We stop, show you what we found, and price the repair before going any further. If enough of the frame has gone, rebuilding usually costs less than patching it, and we will tell you that.
